Design Technologies Lead | Associate

Ben Lewis

AIA

As MSR Design’s design technologies lead and a registered architect, Ben values visceral, hands-on learning through physical model making and being on site to witness contemporary construction methods. He believes in the importance of craft in architecture and chasing a design concept all the way to the details. Ben is continually motivated by seeing a building become reality and appreciates collaborating with skilled contractors to better understand how design ideas and drawings translate into built space. In addition to his professional practice, Ben has served as a design studio instructor at the University of Minnesota College of Design.

What are your favorite activities outside of work?

Juggling too many hobbies: complicated board games, stained glass, carpentry, model kits, and FaceTime conversations with my niece.
