Java Nyamjav

Java combines design, research, and creativity to discover innovative solutions to environmental and social equality concerns. She holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Architecture Research Practices from the University of Minnesota and received the Thomas F. Ellerbe and Thomas Meyer MSRP Program Award. Java’s graduate school thesis focused on a speculative design to leapfrog the living conditions of Mongolian nomadic farmers. She gained community-based project experience at the Minnesota Design Center. As an intern with MSR Design, Java explored the impact of embodied carbon on the built environment. Java is passionate about sustainability and excited to continue improving building performance.

Why design?

Design allows me to use creativity to touch people's lives, improve building performance, and reduce environmental impact, while making a positive difference.
