Focusing on learning through play and highly interactive experiences, the new Grand Forks Children’s Museum will advance the museum’s mission to inspire and empower young minds through exploration. It will feature permanent and temporary exhibition space, multipurpose rooms, an active climbing feature, and an outdoor plaza and exhibition area with a connection to an adjacent public park. Design drivers include accessibility and inclusion and sensitivity to the site’s microclimate, particularly related to wind and solar exposure and the flat regional surroundings.
