The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Minnesota and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine recently announced the winners of the 2012 RAVE Awards. Two MS&R-designed homes were among the five projects by Minnesota architects selected for this year’s Residential Architects Vision and Excellence (RAVE) Awards. The RAVE program, now in its ninth year, was created by AIA Minnesota and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine to recognize excellence in residential design and raise awareness of the benefits of using an architect.

      CRANE ISLAND CABIN
“Creating a home on beloved and historic Crane Island is not an easy task. The designers were thoughtful to respect the surroundings and really blend this cottage-like home into the landscape. Light materials and a stunning wraparound porch magnify this indoor-outdoor connection.”

      MOUNT CURVE MODERN
“In this big and competitive category, the judges were taken with this striking remodel of a historic mid-century modern home. Robert Bliss’s exterior design is echoed on the interior with sleek, luxurious materials and tones. While completely modernizing the functionality of the home, the team maintained respect toward the integrity and aesthetics of the original design.”
