    • Overview

      With a 20-year history providing planning and design services for the largest private university in Iowa, MSR recently completed work on this new classroom facility.

      This new campus building reflects the University’s increasingly diverse student body of lifelong learners and leaders. It gathers writers, researchers, and other students into a highly flexible and efficient environment. Building program elements include a common area for students and staff to gather and display work, classrooms, offices, a tech lab, and an auditorium.

      Registered for LEED-NC 2.2 Silver certification, the new building features a number of sustainable design strategies, including geothermal heating and cooling, daylight harvesting, rainwater harvesting, water-saving fixtures, and under-floor air distribution and chilled sails.

    • interiors feature traditional campus materials, such as wood and stone, in a modern aesthetic
    • all classrooms provide integrated technology
    • and range in size from the large auditorium-style lecture hall
    • to smaller, more intimate classroom settings that can be reconfigured based on coursework and student needs
