    • Overview

“The designers really understood the inherent strengths of the existing space. They created definition and connectivity between the various living areas while maintaining the openness and flexibility appropriate for a loft. The solution is brilliant in the way that it makes both the terrace and the view incredible amenities for the living space.”

This new residence within the Humboldt Lofts features spectacular views of the Guthrie Theater and riverfront neighborhood. MSR redesigned the space to integrate the existing terrace as part of the main living area. It features an expansive new sliding glass door that can be kept open during spring, summer, and fall, making the transition from interior to exterior seamless. A roof/ceiling plane made of perforated stainless steel visually connects inside and out and helps keep the kitchen cool during the summer months.

    • opening directly off of the kitchen and dining area, the large terrace overlooking the Guthrie Theater is ideal for entertaining
    • millwork and furnishings are used to delineate kitchen, dining, and living spaces within the wide open loft
    • with a view of downtown, large fireplace, and variety of seating options, the main living area is well-suited to entertaining
