    • Overview

This redevelopment of an extremely popular summer attraction features a man-made artificial swim pond.

Resembling a natural pond, the lined sand pool is filled with recirculating chlorinated water. MSR designed the architectural component for redevelopment of the pond. The program consists of several park functions housed in a cluster of buildings. These functions include concessions, bike rentals, rest room and changing facilities, and a lifeguard station. One building specifically houses the utilities for the chlorinated and filtered pond. The complex is designed to form a gateway to the swim pond and is linked together by a meandering sun/shade trellis. The materials employed for the project are a durable complement to the surrounding natural landscape.

    • simple forms and bright colors complement the utilitarian materials
    • a sun/shade trellis links all of the buildings
    • interiors are finished in similar materials and colors
