    • Overview

“Thank you. I don’t know how to make those words stretch big enough to really encompass the thank you that you deserve, but this place is just beautiful. . . . It was miraculous for our school. It is a beautiful, beautiful space.”—Frances Kane, Former Administrator, City of Lakes Waldorf School

This project involved the adaptive reuse of a former office building into a private K-8 school. The design incorporates Waldorf’s four foundational categories—head, heart, hands, and hearth—with a central hearth, basic geometric shapes, simple craft-like construction, and creative use of more complex geometries and materials. The facility features numerous multipurpose rooms and a commons area for student and community gatherings.
