City of Lakes Community Land Trust Pro Bono Project

    Previous Next
    • MSR provided pro bono design services to convert an early 20th-century, two-story building into the new headquarters for a nonprofit organization that helps people buy and keep their homes.

The project involved fully gutting the building, which had previously housed a barbershop and office space. The design includes an updated electrical system and a new staircase, conference room, and HVAC system, as well as new windows and lighting. Large enough to accommodate neighborhood groups, the conference room serves as a broader resource for the community. A new parking lot behind the building features a rain garden that collects runoff from the roof.

    • the updated lobby gets a lot of natural light
    • fresh colors liven up the interior
    • updated conference room for community use
