    • Overview

This loft space in a new 39-story condominium building on the Minneapolis riverfront allows an active member of the local political and business communities to host large social gatherings and fundraising events.

Because the small, segmented spaces of the traditionally-styled base unit would not work well for hosting large groups of people, the architect worked with the building engineers to alter the base layout before the concrete load-bearing walls had been poured. Ideal for entertaining, the resulting open plan takes full advantage of 180-degree views of the riverfront.

    • the design also includes a gallery to accommodate the client’s extensive art collection
    • the main living/entertaining space and terraces offers spectacular views of the riverfront
    • the main kitchen is located in the center of the loft for easy entertaining, supported by the adjacent catering kitchen
    • other spaces include a home office, fitness and media rooms, and master and guest bedroom suites
