    • Biography

Sam is a MSR associate. He joined the firm in 2009 and has extensive experience with building information modeling and parametric design across multiple technology platforms. This experience and his focus on learning environments and corporate workspaces have greatly shaped his passion for learning. Sam’s belief in a highly collaborative process is rooted in engaging user groups, clients, and consultants to leverage the best possible approach. He views design as a window into how and why systems, cultures, and businesses operate, and his curiosity drives him to explore all the forces influencing a project, from social and economic pressures to building science and technology. He is particularly interested in how the dynamics of generational relationships shape our culture, work places, and businesses. Sam is a registered architect and LEED accredited professional. He has worked on several projects focused on achieving high levels of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, including the first LEED Platinum house in the state of Kansas. Sam’s work has been recognized with awards such as an AIA Central States Architecture Honor Award and Nebraska New Construction Honor Award. His work has been exhibited at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and Minima Gallery. A graduate of the design-build program Studio 804 at the University of Kansas, Sam holds a Bachelor of Architecture, with a minor in Business.
