Bob Ganser, AIA
BiographyA registered architect with 19 years of experience, Bob recently joined MSR. He has focused his career on repurposing and renovating existing structures, including institutional projects, multi-family and single-family housing, office interiors, and commercial space. A significant example of this work includes the salvage and reuse design concept for a decommissioned Minneapolis skyway structure, which reflects a focus on sustainability through the embodied energy and material resources in the object itself and cultural value of urban infrastructure as part of the city’s history. Bob cofounded and led CityDeskStudio, an independent architecture firm, for 11 years. He brings a holistic design sensibility and an eye for precision to projects. Prior to establishing CityDeskStudio, he worked in the offices of HGA and Julie Snow Architects (now Snow Kreilich Architects). In addition to his professional practice, Bob teaches undergraduate and graduate architectural design studios in the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota, where he received a Master of Architecture in 1997. Bob is currently co-chair of the AIA Minnesota Committee on Design and received an AIA Minnesota Young Architects Award in 2014.
